Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University launched a comprehensive livestock entrepreneurship portal for the State on 30th November 2016. This portal www.kvasuleap.in incorporated all the potential stakeholders in livestock sector, institutions, data base, services, banking and finance, successful models, practices, export - import policies, programmes, strategies and action plan required for promoting livestock entrepreneurship in the State. All the information related to Dairy, Poultry and meat production, processing, marketing, value addition, opportunities within the country and abroad, institutions supporting the programmes, etc are included in the portal. At a time when entrepreneurship is getting momentum across the country, this portal will highlight integrated livestock and agri production under the banner safe to eat products. Recently University launched Startup Village project through integrating Agri, livestock, dairy and fisheries sectors. This model can be percolated in the State as on demand. Moreover it will highlight the need for launching startup projects in agri, livestock and allied sectors.
KVASU leap will be a comprehensive entrepreneur advisory portal providing information supporting new entrants in the livestock sector such as schemes of different stake holding government institutions, trainings offered, current projects of the local self governments for the year, funding opportunities, etc will be made available for any prospective entrepreneurs in this sector. This venture is supported by the stake holding departments like Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Development Department, Milma, Kudumbasree, KLD board, Kerala Feeds, KILA etc. This interactive portal will facilitate consultancy services for potential entrepreneurs. Non resident Indians who are interested to establish agri based ventures will get technical support from appropriate institutions. Livestock entrepreneurship portal will provide appropriate relevant statistical data for the proposed 13th five year plan.
